This paper introduces the notion of “postcolonial logistics” as the theoretical framework of my ongoing phd dissertation on the supply chain expansion of the italian hydrocarbon agency ENI in early postcolonial Africa, the so-called “disegno Africano”. Furthermore, it explores the Motel Agip of Dar es Salaam, one of the case studies of the dissertation, as a logistic architecture in order to understand its genealogies, contexts, and performances in the Longue durée.

* Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi is the Italian National Hydrocarbon Agency
