This paper introduces ENI (Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi), the Italian National Hydrocarbon Agency as an agent in the production of space and illustrates the company’s supply chain expansion in early postcolonial Africa by focusing on a selection of infrastructures and architectures as case studies. The aim of the presentation is to open up a discussion on the theoretical framework, the main methodological aspects, and the overall structure of my ongoing PhD on ENI’s “disegno Africano.”
